This year Open House London (an annual event, when buildings throughout London open their doors to the public) takes place on Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 September. The theme for 2013 is 'Celebrating architecture, people and place'. The Government Art Collection (GAC) is taking part and invites you on a tour of the GAC building, near Tottenham Court Road. Works of art on display will include five large views of Bath, Brighton and Cheltenham painted by John Piper. They were commissioned by the Ministry of Works (formerly responsible for the Government Collection) in February 1949 for the British Ambassador's Residence in Rio de Janeiro.

You will also have a chance to see the Racking Area and Workshop.  Tours take place each hour between 10.00 and 17.00 (last tour 16.00) and last for about 45 minutes each.
