Loans to Exhibitions

We welcome requests for loans to temporary or long-term public exhibitions in the UK and abroad, providing the security and environmental conditions of the proposed location are acceptable.


We do not charge an administration fee for lending works from the Collection. However, if a requested work of art is located abroad, we reserve the right to charge the borrower for all transport costs. This may include the cost of transporting the work to the exhibition venue and returning it to its original location. In some circumstances the borrower may also be charged for the conservation and reframing of the work at cost price.

There is no minimum notice period for requests, however as much notice as possible would be appreciated. Initial requests to borrow works from the Collection should be sent to:
